of my old school text-only SB-uP newsletter, covering the first weeks 
of the year 2025 and bits of the final ones of 2024.

These are exciting times, be it not (always) for exciting reasons.

Last summer, in memory of Ronald Heiloo who left us, I wrote up the full story
of our late 1970s / early 1980s collaborations and slivers of what happened after,
in "Young Lions, Amphibians, Giant Worms, Dutch Masters & other fictions".

Highly recommended, for all interested in the history of post-punk and diy,
as is the, still available, Annual's first edition, in which I give a rare
inside view of the ookoi's worlds. (Which, btw, reminds me that this year we
celebrate that 20 years ago we released 'Muziektafel / Tafelmuziek (2004)'.)
Still writing the b.ookoi, the ookoi kicked off the new year with a public
listening party, online and in the salon of Arti et Amicitiae, in Amsterdam,

And the list of my sudoku solution based music works keeps on growing.
With Shih-wen Lee on double bass, mid-december at the Brussels' Haekem Theatre,
Gérard Daval provided indispensable technical help in the making of a 1st recording
of "Let me show you exactly what you are", a sudoku solution for double bass
and four channel electronics. Live performances later this year !

Another long read has the learned title "The Ontological Primacy of Parasitism: 
Re-thinking the Digital/Analogue Divide in Contemporary Music and Art. An essay 
in Speculative Parasitology (i)". It is a paper based on a presentation by
Rébus and myself at the Politics of the Machines (POM) conference in Aachen, 
Germany, on April 25, 2024, analysing the re-evaluation of parasitism in art & 
contemporary music as a crucial catalyst for creativity and evolution, emphasising
ideas on the ontological anteriority of the continuous over the discrete, as 
articulated e.g. in mathematics by René Thom, etc.

I like the 'fediverse' ideas & ideology, 'old' as they are.
"The internet was supposed to set us free, but it's been hijacked by monopolies 
that lock us in, strip us down, and sell us back to ourselves" (in the plus or
minus words of Cory Doctorow, theinternetiscrack.com, and many others).
Reclaim your online content, *own* your web sites, safeguard your data.
I imagine we all move back to fab stuff like rss, and—well, yes—email newsletters, 
paper notes in enveloppes, become sort of ^21st century schizoid (wo)x(men)^, 
resistors, be a 21st century underground.
